People and children with disability are still poor and vulnerable

Community Based rehabilitation project was started in 2012 in seven blocks of Yavatmal District Maharashtra. The main focus of the project is to treat the Person with disabilities equally in the community as others so that they can have space and opportunities to realise their potentials. On five aspects health, education, livelihood, social and empowerment this project was intervened. In 32 villages of Babulgaon DPO (Disable people organization) was formed. These VDPOs resolved their issue at village level through Gram panchayat and stake holder. ISAR also facilitated these groups to resolve their issued help them to empower through awareness various schemes and GR of govt. there are total 26 VDPOs formed from these VDPOs two member from each village came at block level and formed BDPO (Block Disable people organization). There are 52 members in general body and 11 members in Governing body. This BDPO members raise their issues at Block level and resolved the issues at Block which was not resolved at Gram Panchayat level. From these BDPO one District Disable People organization (DDPO) has been form the key function of these DDPO is to raise their issues concerns of the people with disabilities with the appropriate authorities at District level as well as to disseminate the formation relating to schemes and programs of the government. DDPO function is to put forwarded the issues which are not resolved at block level to district level DDPO. While implementing these project child support group and mother care group has been formed. The function of child support group is to held CWDs in various fields like education, support held in taking to school, help in doing various activities. Mother group helps to support CWDs mother for supporting her CWDs while she is engage in other works. Home base for CWDs were also supported by helping while dosing daily living, education, mobilization, physical support.
